TITLE: Long-term Substitute Itinerant Art Teacher, .80 FTE Certified PositionSeptember 5, 2023-June 30, 2025 (duration is 2 years,dependent on return of current incumbent) Affiliation: NoneRegional School Success Location: LansingDUTIES: Provide instruction as a replacement Teacher to cover a temporary leave for Art at Lansing High School. Work will be performed under the general supervision of the building principal and RSS Director. Other duties as required.• Teach four high school Art classes, including Ceramics and Studio-Digital Art;• Provide learning experiences and teach the courses of study prescribed by the district-approved curriculum;• Assess student progress and summative performances;• Participate in department meetings and professional development opportunities;• Budget for course materials;QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Teacher Certification is preferred, but not necessary. Uncertified teachers may substitute up to 40 days in a school year. Certification in art education and previous successful high school teaching experience are desired. Experience with ceramics and kiln firing is required; digital skills, including familiarity with Adobe and Google Suite, are also strongly preferred. The Long-Term Substitute must be available to teach 9am-3pm.START DATE: September 5, 2023 (position is expected to be a 2-year term)SALARY: Substitute teacher rate = $125.00 per day. ($115 uncertified) Substitute Teacher that works for a period of up to 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be paid at a daily rate. A Long-Term Substitute Teacher works more than 20 consecutive workdays in the same class/assignment, payment will be at a rate of 1/200 of an annual salary. The annual salary will be calculated as if the substitute were being hired for a regular appointment.
