The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both subjects and a proven track record of engaging students in hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences.Responsibilities:Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines for Biology and Chemistry.Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and interactive activities, to enhance student understanding and application of scientific concepts.Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration among students.Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support student growth and achievement.Collaborate with colleagues to integrate cross-curricular concepts and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in science education and contribute to the school's continuous improvement efforts.Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior and attendanceStrong classroom management skillsCommunicate regularly with parents and guardiansQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Valid NYS teaching license or certification in Science (Biology and/or Chemistry endorsement preferred).Experience teaching high school-level Biology and Chemistry courses.Strong knowledge of inquiry-based learning strategies and instructional technologies.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
