Position: Executive AssistantReports to: Executive DirectorStart Date: Immediate St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf in Brooklyn seeks an Executive Assistant to work in the office of the Executive Director as well as support the Main Office staff and other school employees. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain various databases, confidential files.Work with the Executive Director and prepare documents and organize projects, as requested.Provide general clerical support (photocopy, scan, fax, file, etc.)Assist with the coordination of school events. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONSMinimum of 3 years of related experience in an administrative support role. Computer skills – Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel. Ability to access e-mail and electronic calendars.Must have the ability to type (50 WPM) and proofread documents ensuring accuracy. Applicant must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Applicant must have excellent organizational skills and pay meticulous attention to details.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.Sign Language Proficiency, strongly preferred PERSONAL QUALITIESCapacity to manage multiple responsibilities and competing demandsDemonstrated ability to work in a calm and respectful mannerCommitment to fostering a collaborative, professional, and respectful work environmentMaintain a positive, encouraging attitude to motivate others.Candidate must enjoy working with children with disabilities COMPENSATIONSt. Francis offers a competitive salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience. The range for this position is $49,000 - $77,000 per year. ABOUT THE SCHOOLSt. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf (SFDS) is a nonpublic, New York State supported school for Deaf students from birth through 8th grade located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. SFDS offers a Parent Infant Program (Ages 0-3), an Early Childhood Program (Ages 3-5) and a School Age Program (Grades K-8). Students attending SFDS are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Deaf Disabled.
