Position: Part-time Information Technology AssistantDays/Hours: Wednesday (8am-4pm) & another day (8am-4pm) to be mutually agreed uponReports to: Technology SupervisorStart Date: Immediate St. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf in Brooklyn seeks a Part-Time Information Technology Assistant. The IT Assistant is responsible to support the Technology Supervisor in maintaining the efficient functioning of the schools technology systems and equipment. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESAssistance with the management of the school wide network relating to the internet, e-mail system, surveillance cameras, emergency systems, etc.Ensuring that all equipment and software applications used by staff are functioning and troubleshoot as needed. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLSPrevious experience of at least two years with the troubleshooting the following: hardware (PC, SmartBoard, etc), software issues (Microsoft , operating systems (windows, MAC OS), required CompTIA A+ certification, preferredSign Language Proficiency, preferred PERSONAL QUALITIESThis job requires significant physical demands such as lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing and balance. Willingness to learn.Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and respectful mannerMaintain a positive, encouraging attitude to motivate othersCandidate must enjoy working with special needs children COMPENSATIONSt. Francis offers a competitive salary commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience. The anticipated compensation range for this part-time position is $18,000 – $32,000. ABOUT THE SCHOOLSt. Francis de Sales School for the Deaf (SFDS) is a nonpublic, New York State supported school for Deaf students from birth through 8th grade located in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn. SFDS offers a Parent Infant Program (Ages 0-3), an Early Childhood Program (Ages 3-5) and a School Age Program (Grades K-8). Students attending SFDS are Deaf, DeafBlind, and Deaf Disabled.SFDS utilizes best practices from current research in Deaf Education.
