UNIVERSAL PRE-K TEACHERTitle: Universal Pre-K TeacherLocation: Story Place Preschool, Inc.Person Responsible To: Preschool Leader, Story Place Preschool, Inc.Staff Supervised: All staff as requested by the Preschool Leader.Education and/or Experience Prerequisites:Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field from an accredited college; Experience in working with preschool children; Knowledge of child development and OCFS regulations.I. Responsibilities:A. Universal Pre-K Teacher1. Assist in the classroom as the regular education teacher when necessary to cover lunch periods, staff absences, teacher attendance at meetings, conferences, Annual Reviews, Teacher Mentoring etc.2. To assist the classroom team with the development of educational materials.3. To assist the classroom team in carrying out daily schedules and plans for each child in the classroom.4. To assist the classroom team in working with small groups of children in the classroom.5. To assist the classroom team in working with the entire group of children in the classroom.6. Work with individual children in carrying out their daily plan.7. Lead small and large groups of children in instructional activities.8. Supervise children in the classroom in all their daily living activities.9. Assist children in meeting their daily needs – in unloading from the bus, taking their outdoor clothing off, going to the bathroom, getting ready for snacks or lunch, eating snacks or lunch, going outdoors, getting ready to go home, and getting on the bus.10. Assist children in participating in all classroom activities.11. Maintain classroom area, equipment and supplies on a daily basis.12. Ready classroom area, equipment and supplies for the use during the day.13. Prepare classroom for lunch or snacks.14. Clean up classroom area and put equipment and supplies away after lunch, snacks, and the end of the day.
