JOB DESCRIPTION:1:1 AIDE/SUBSTITUTE Title: 1:1 Aide/ SubstituteLocation: Story Place Preschool, Inc.Person Responsible To: Special Education Classroom TeacherNumber of Staff Supervised: 0Education and/or Experience Prerequisites:High School Diploma and basic knowledge of preschool children.Basic Functions:Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with the daily operation of the classroom, providing a safe and healthy learning environment for each child in the classroom, and carrying out IEP/IFSP goals for the child(ren) you are assisting.Responsibilities:Coordinate and maintain individual help and assistance to carry out goals on the IEP/IFSP including, but not limited to, self help skills (toileting, diaper changing, feeding), following directions, and attending.To attend all therapy sessions with the child.To communicate daily with the classroom team about information regarding the child that will assist the team in the development of appropriate learning experiences.To assist the classroom team with the development of educational materials.To attend and participate in team meetings and planning meetings (when asked).To attend and participate in staff meetings.To work a schedule that meets the needs of the program and classroomTo work in a PROFESSIONAL MANNER (including, but not limited, appropriate attire, confidentially, and appropriate language).To attend training and external meetings as required.To follow Story Place Preschool’s policies, practices and procedures.To assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the classroom.To perform other duties as may be necessary and assigned by your supervisor.If you see that something needs to be done and you can do it, then do it. Otherwise, report it to your supervisor.Provides assistance to the Preschool Leader as needed.Adheres to policies and procedures established by Story Place Preschool, Inc. in the employee handbook.
