ANTICIPATED OPENING 2024-2025BEHAVIORAL CONSULTANT – FULL TIMEThe Plainview-Old Bethpage CSD is seeking a skilled and dedicated Behavioral Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Discrete Trial Teaching (DTT), Functional Behavior Assessment (BFA), and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). This individual will provide expert consultation, training, and support to staff and students, ensuring the implementation of effective behavioral strategies and interventions Key Responsibilites: Consultation & Support:- Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of behavioral issues.- Provide direct support & coaching to teachers and support staff in the application of ABA and DTT techniques.- Offer guidance on classroom management and de-escalation strategies. Training & Professional Development:- Design and deliver professional development workshop on ABA, DTT, FBA/BIP, and de-escalation techniques.- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to school personnel on best practices in behavioral management- Develop resources and materials to support staff in the implementation of behavioral strategies.Collaboration & Communication:- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents, to address behavioral concerns and develop comprehensive support plans.- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and modify interventions as needed.- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to student behavior management. Data Collection & Analysis:- Collect and analyze behavioral data to monitor the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies accordingly.- Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports.Problem Solving & Crisis Management:- Act as a resource for crisis intervention and de-escalation, providing immediate support during behavioral incidents. - Develop and implement proactive strategies to prevent behavioral issues and promote positive student outcomes.Qualifications: - Master’s degree in Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis preferred. Master’s degree in education considered.- Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (BCBA) preferred.- Extensive knowledge and experience in ABA, DTT, FBA/BIP, and de-escalation techniques.- Proven track record in designing and delivering professional development programs.- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in high-stress situations.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, administrators, and parents.Salary: As per contractDeadline: Friday, August 30, 2024
