Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Regional Coordinator of Teaching and Learning to support the development of teaching and learning programs within the Curriculum & Instructional Services Department of the Professional Learning Division. Duties may include: • Plan, implement, and facilitate learning opportunities and events, with a primary focus on teaching, learning, and assessment. • Design and implement new teaching and learning services to expand the reach of the Curriculum & Instructional Services Department and the Professional Learning Division and strengthen the support in non-disciplinary priority areas. • Assist with the implementation of services within the Curriculum & Instructional Services Department, including grants, projects, partnerships, etc. • Support the Professional Learning Division with alignment of opportunities to build scaffolding and reduce overlap. • Create and distribute marketing and media for teaching and learning opportunities. • Maintain positive communication with districts, BOCES, outside organizations, and partners as required. • Maintain relationships and memberships in relevant professional organizations to build capacity to provide leading-edge learning opportunities; attend professional conferences and NYSED subject-specific trainings when appropriate. • Assist with implementation, development, and/or delivery of any ad hoc projects as assigned by Director. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have: • A thorough understanding of the New York State Learning Standards. • New York State teacher certification. • New York State School District leader certification. • Minimum of five years of experience in teaching. • Leadership experience preferred. • Expertise in curriculum design and development, and data-based decision-making experience preferred. • Outstanding facilitation, verbal communication, and writing skills, as well as experience providing effective professional learning. CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED: • Must be organized and exhibit strong planning skills and follow-through. • Must have strong interpersonal skills to work well with students, teachers, administrators, and support staff from a wide variety of schools and districts. • Must be an innovative self-starter with entrepreneurial skills preferred. • Must be aligned with PNW BOCES mission and driven by providing service to others and committed to building strong partnerships.
