Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a need for a Food Service Helper for ESY Summer 2026. This position is unique to serving the needs of our diverse student population and assisting in the operations of the school kitchen, in a friendly and professional manner. Duties may include the following: • Clean and organize the cafeteria prep and serving area; • Assist kitchen staff with food prep and meal serving; • Utilize POS system for student transactions; • Assist with inventory management; • Bank deposits, as needed; • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must have a High School diploma or equivalent, be physically able to perform job related duties, follow written and oral instructions thoroughly and be proficient in organizational and communication skills. Candidate should be: • Familiar with proper methods of serving food; • Familiar with proper care of tableware, glassware, silverware, kitchen appliances; • Working knowledge of modern cleaning methods & use of cleaning supplies & appliances.
