Duties:Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a vacancy for an experienced Teaching Assistant to assist in the PAES (Practical Assessment Exploration System) Lab in the instruction and management of vocational tasks and activities. This position includes managing a data collection system, scheduling, training staff in the use of the PAES Lab, and collaborating with teams in meeting student vocational needs. This appointment will include a 4-year probationary period and lead to a possible recommendation for Tenure.Qualifications:Certification as a Teaching Assistant or Teacher (Special Education preferred) required.Characteristics Desired:Must be able to form positive relationships with students. Experience teaching students with various disabilities, especially those transitioning to adult services. Experience with job readiness preparation preferred. Must be highly organized, dedicated, able to work independently and have the ability to work in multiple teams. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.To Begin:August 30, 2023Salary Range:$34,328-$49,375
