Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates an opening for a leave replacement Social Worker for the Local School Building programs which serves Special Education students with various learning and social-emotional disabilities. Duties include providing indicated IEP individual and group counseling services, collaborating with other professionals and/or agencies that provide services, consulting with and providing support to special education teachers, completing Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans, working with students' families and support networks, providing referral and linking services for both students and families, assisting families in completing necessary applications for recommended services, and maintaining accurate documentation of services provided.QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred candidates will have knowledge/experience with the regulations and trends pertaining to special education. MSW, CSW, School Social Worker Certification is required.CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:Extensive knowledge of approaches for students with autism, emotional disabilities, and/or multiple disabilities. Ability to positively manage student behavior in a school setting. Must be organized and have ability to work in multiple teams. Successful candidates must have a positive, can-do attitude and be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
