Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates a need for a Food Service Helper. This is a P/T hourly position and should not exceed 15 hours per week. This position is unique to serving the needs of our diverse student population and assisting in the operations of the school kitchen, in a friendly and professional manner. Duties may include the following: • Clean and organize the cafeteria prep and serving area;• Assist kitchen staff with food prep and meal serving;• Utilize POS system for student transactions;• Assist with inventory management;• Bank deposits, as needed;• Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:The successful candidate must have a High School diploma or equivalent, be physically able to perform job related duties, follow written and oral instructions thoroughly and be proficient in organizational and communication skills. Candidate should be:• Familiar with proper methods of serving food;• Familiar with proper care of tableware, glassware, silverware, kitchen appliances;• Working knowledge of modern cleaning methods & use of cleaning supplies & appliances.CHARACTERISTICS DESIRED:Successful candidates must be committed to the BOCES Mission of Service and Innovation through Partnership.
