Duties: Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES anticipates operating a 6-week ESY Program for students with disabilities from July 1, 2025 through August 11, 2025 and anticipates the need for a Teacher Aide position to work one-on-one in small group settings with students that have behavioral challenges to deescalate crisis situations.Provide program-wide, active response to instructional staff when a crisis situation emerges;Complete post-event debriefing and associated paperwork documenting a crisis situation including but not limited to situations when students present a danger to oneself or others;Provide turnkey training to staff members and parents on research-based intervention strategies.To begin July 1, 2025 (Only those who can work the full 6-week program and those who are available to attend the ESY Orientation on June 12, 2025 at 3:00 PM need apply).Qualifications: Crisis Intervention Specialists must maintain their Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification in order to remain in their role.Characteristics Desired: Positive, can-do attitude with the ability to work in collaboration with their peers and in a team-based environment. Effective oral and written communication skills. A commitment to the PNW BOCES mission of service and innovation through partnership.
