Job Summary: Port Chester High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high school-aged students with disabilities. This role involves providing individualized instruction, implementing IEPs, and collaborating with families and staff to support student success. Responsibilities: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs. Modify and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Utilize assistive technology and evidence-based instructional strategies. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to create an inclusive learning environment. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed. Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations. Foster a positive, nurturing, and culturally responsive classroom environment. Qualifications: Valid New York State (NYS) teaching certification in Special Education. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Knowledge of IEP development, behavior management strategies, and differentiated instruction.
