ONC BOCES is seeking a full-time School Social Worker.Qualified candidates will have a current NYS School Social Worker certification.As a Social Worker, your primary responsibilities will include:Assessment and Intervention: Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' social, emotional, and family situations to identify areas of need. Provide timely and evidence-based interventions to support students in overcoming challenges.Crisis Intervention: Respond to and manage crisis situations affecting students, offering immediate support and collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure the well-being of individuals involved.Individual and Group Counseling: Provide individual and group counseling services to address emotional, behavioral, and interpersonal issues, helping students develop coping skills and resilience.Collaboration with Families: Work closely with parents and guardians to understand family dynamics, address concerns, and develop strategies to support the holistic well-being of students.Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of students, especially those facing socio-economic challenges or discrimination. Collaborate with community resources to connect students and families with appropriate support services.Preventive Programs: Design and implement preventive programs addressing issues such as bullying, substance abuse, and mental health awareness to create a safe and supportive school environment.Case Management: Manage and maintain accurate records of student cases, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
