Modeled on the network’s flagship school in Providence, Rhode Island, NursesMC Charter High School Capital Region (NursesMC-CR) gives students a rich, hands-on, rigorous educational experience unlike any other.As a Substitute Principal, you will step in as the acting leader of the school during times when the full-time principal and Executive Director are unavailable. Your role will be to ensure the smooth operation of the school, provide instructional leadership to staff, maintain a safe and positive learning environment for students, and ensure compliance with school, District, and State policies.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Act as the school leader in the absence of the full-time principal and Executive Director.Maintain overall school site operations, including ensuring student and staff safety, supervising school activities, and coordinating with support services (e.g., transportation, custodial, cafeteria).Provide instructional leadership and support professional development for all staff members.Interpret and enforce all NursesMC-CR policies and regulations, as well as pertinent personnel policies.Support Dean of students to administer school discipline and supervise activities, including events.Address situations, problems, and conflicts that arise, and work to maintain a positive school culture.Communicate effectively with students, families, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.Coordinate and manage school site activities and ensure the daily use of the school facilities is supervised.QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Leadership, or a related field.School Building Leader (SBL) certification required.Successful experience as an Assistant Principal and/or School Principal.Minimum of five (5) years of teaching or administrative experience, preferably in a charter school or high school setting.Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and school operations.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.Ability to handle challenges and conflicts while maintaining focus on the school’s mission.
