Join Our Team as a Special Education Teacher for New Fairfield High School.Learn more about our district here https://www.newfairfieldschools.orgWe are seeking to hire a dynamic candidate with a solid understanding of disabilities including Learning Disabilities, Autism and Intellectual Disability, as well as experience using a trauma-informed approach and a positive behavior motivation system. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for lesson planning and delivery as well as assessing students and writing high quality IEPs. Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings, PPT Meetings, and parent communication is an essential component of this position. The Special Education Teacher must collaborate regularly with related service providers and general education teachers, and be skilled in providing on-going training and supervision to paraprofessionals. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field requiredMaster’s degree preferred CT Certification in Special Education (165, 265, or 065) or NY Certification, CT has an easy route to reciprocity. Excellent teaming, collaboration and communication skills.Ability to differentiate instruction and provide inclusive education is highly desirable.Position starts August 2025!
