New Fairfield School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher. Our programs offer a highly supportive environment for students with varying needs; through multidisciplinary teams we offer support in the areas of academics, social and emotional learning, communication and behavior. This position would be responsible for lesson planning and delivery as well as assessing students and writing high quality IEPs. He or she would participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and PPT meetings. Communicating and creating supportive relationship with parents is an essential are essential components of this position, as well as collaborating with related service providers and general education teachers. There may be times when this position will provide on-going training and supervision to paraeducators working in their classroom. QUALIFICATIONS: CT Certification in Special Education (165, 265, or 065) or a NY Certification, CT has a smooth reciprocity certification process for those who hold a New York Certification.We encourage candidates to apply via OLAS.
