*** IN ADDITION TO APPLYING ON OLAS, ALL APPLICANTS MUST VISIT THE NASSAU BOCES Employment Opportunities PAGE TO COMPLETE THEIR APPLICATION ***The Department of Health and Allied Services is seeking a Program Coordinator to assist the Supervisor with providing support to the Psychologists and Social Workers within Health and Allied Services. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee the implementation of the program services provided by the School Psychologists and School Social Workers within Health and Allied Services’ contracted school districts’ private and independent schools. Communicate and collaborate with school districts and private and independent schools about Health and Allied Services support services. Organize training sessions and/or workshops for School Psychologists and School Social Workers to enhance their skills and knowledge. Handle administrative tasks such as budgeting, reporting and department inventory. Other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor, as needed. Requirements:New York State Education Department Certification: School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA). New York State Education Department Certification: Professional/Permanent School Psychologist. Five or more years of School Psychologist experience. Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and intervention strategies. Knowledge of relevant educational laws and regulations including special education. Experience with chairing Committee on Special Education (CSE) and 504 Plan meetings. Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
