Description:The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs seeks an Assistant Principal who will foster and promote career and technical education, college and workforce readiness, student leadership, and civic responsibility in the culture and climate of our state-of-the-art career and technical education center. The Assistant Principal position includes all traditional Assistant Principal responsibilities with specific concentration and expertise required for operations and school management. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, community members, and high school students who are preparing to enter the workforce or continue their education. The candidate should be familiar with a variety of models for classroom management and discipline and must be able to effectively lead programs and staff for students with disabilities and English language learners. The candidate must also be able to represent CTE programs to districts, employers, colleges, and events and to take the lead in new building and Agency initiatives.Requirements:* NYSED Certification – School Building Leader or School Administrator and Supervisor is required.* NYSED Certification – School District Leader or School District Administrator is also preferred.* 3+ years’ experience as an Assistant Principal, Business Manager, Administrator, Chair, Director, or Department Head; Adult education CTE experience or secondary CTE or magnet/specialized high school is preferred.* Experience with student information systems, data analysis, traditional school operations, instructional leadership, and familiarity with current instructional technology is required.* Experience with budgeting is preferred.Previous applicants need not reapply.
