Malverne School District is seeking skilled candidates who hold NYS certification in the following position. We welcome recent graduates eager to grow professionally and develop their skills in a diverse, inclusive, and supportive environment. REQUIREMENTS: Have a valid NYS Teacher certification in any of the following: ESOL Pre-K-12 or in process ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Deliver rigorous, standards-based instruction aligned to the NYS Next Generation ELA Standards, incorporating appropriate supports for English Language Learners (ELLs) and Students with Interrupted/Inconsistent Formal Education (SIFE). Strengthen students’ English language proficiency through inquiry-based, student-centered instruction aligned to the Portrait of a Graduate, fostering critical thinking, communication, global awareness, and collaboration. Collaborate with instructional leadership and colleagues to design, implement, and refine rigorous curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials aligned to NYS standards. Explore and implement innovative educational technologies and digital tools to support language acquisition and content mastery in the classroom. Embed students’ cultural and linguistic backgrounds into instruction while providing targeted academic language support and strengthening interdisciplinary connections for ELLs. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive records of student progress, and effectively communicate academic and language development with staff, families, and relevant stakeholders as per NYS ELL guidelines. Foster strong home-school partnerships through consistent, respectful, and proactive communication with parents and/or guardians. Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment using clear expectations, consistent routines, and strong student-teacher relationships. Demonstrate a deep and sustained commitment to ensuring all students achieve high levels of academic and language proficiency.
