The Malverne School District is seeking a candidate to fill an immediate probationary/tenure track teaching position in the Science Department. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Space Science or relevant Science content areaCurrent certification in Earth Science with 5-6 extensionSecond Science certification preferred.Master's degree in educationValid NYS Teaching License, CSFull NYS fingerprint clearance ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Plan and deliver engaging, academically rigorous Earth Science and Science lessons aligned with NYSSLS and progressive pedagogical philosophy.Implement curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.Assess student learning and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching practices.Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.Participate in department, school, district meetings and professional development activities.Foster and maintain effective communication with parents and/or guardians.Establish a positive classroom environment through proactive methods, a clear management system, and strong student rapport.Demonstrate a relentless commitment to ensuring all students succeed at the highest levels.Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor, Principal, or other appropriate administrator.Apply on OLAS
