Special Education Early Childhood Teacher - White Plains • Demonstrate knowledge of Individualized Education Plan (IEP's) and ability to monitor progress in meeting IEP goals. Experience writing IEP progress reportsand Annual Review Reports in accordance with regulations.• Follow New York State curriculum guidelines to develop written appropriate lesson plans that take into account each child's individual learning needs.• NY State Certified Special Education license for students with disabilities birth to 2nd grade• Keep a daily lesson plan log.• Design the classroom to facilitate child exploration and social interaction while eliminating safety hazards.• Utilize a multi-sensory teaching approach to encourage development of each child's language skills.• Provide a structured learning environment that operates within a positive based behavioral support methodology.• Encourage socialization and physical play in children.• Supervise classroom teacher assistants/teacher aides and serve as a role model to meet the goal that all students have appropriate and positive learningexperiences.• Communicate regularly with parents and therapists.• Participate in weekly staff meetings.• Collaborate with Toward Tomorrow teachers, therapists, and other staff to maintain a positive team approach.• Follow the health, safety, confidentiality, emergency and other protocols of the Toward Tomorrow program and the JCC of Mid-Westchester Nursery School(including the Medicaid Compliance Plan and JCCMW Nursery School Toward Tomorrow Staff Handbook.)Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:• Dental insurance• Health insurance• Life insurance• Paid time off• Retirement planSchedule:• Day shiftExperience: • teaching: 2 years (Required) License/Certification: • NY State Special Education Certification (Required)
