JOB DESCRIPTION The Physical Therapist (PT), as a member of the educational team, supports the education of students suspected of and/or diagnosed with a disability in their least restrictive environment. Qualifications: Criteria as set by State Certification Authorities: NYS Physical Therapist LicenseDriver’s License (preferred)Pediatric experience Functions:Ensures safety of studentsImplements and provides direct intervention servicesAdminister assessments and interpret the data Maintains student service, administrative and other departmental records in accordance with the district, state and federal policiesAdhere to professional, ethical and legal standards of practice Develop and implement intervention strategiesEvaluate and report on student progressCommunicate, collaborate and consult with school staff, parents, administratorsProvide consultation to classroom and special education teachersSeek regular opportunities for professional growthProvide guidance to students to promote their educational developmentAssist the administration in implementing all procedures and rules governing students with disabilities Observe ethics, exhibit professional behavior, emotional stability and sound judgementMaintain respect for confidential information (student educational/medical records and assessments, including psychological evaluations) Other Duties and Responsibilities: Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parentsPromote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversation Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance and positive work ethic Job Type: 3-4 days per week Contract: $68 -$70.00 per hour Fee for serviceNo prep time No eligible benefits (health, sick, vacation, holiday) Travel: Required (local within 10 mile radius)
