The Indian Lake Central School District seeks qualified, dedicated candidates for a part-time Special Education teaching position. Candidates must hold, or be eligible for NYS certification. Indian Lake Central School is the only K-12 school district in NYS that is an Essential Elements: Schools-To-Watch. Candidates considered based on their knowledge to do the following:Develop and implement customized IEPs for students with disabilities.Collaborate with other professionals, parents, and students to create effective IEP goals and strategies.Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of each student.Provide specialized instruction in various subjects, focusing on academic, social, and life skills.Use different teaching methods and assistive technologies to support diverse learning styles.Regularly assess students' academic and developmental progress.Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of instructional strategies.Adjust teaching methods based on ongoing assessment results.Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to address challenging behaviors.Create a positive and supportive classroom environment to promote appropriate behavior.Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusion and provide necessary accommodations.Maintain open and effective communication with parents, sharing updates on students' progress and challenges.Organize and manage specialized resources, materials, and assistive technologies for the classroom.Ensure that students have access to necessary accommodations and supports.Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and IEP documentation.Prepare reports and documentation required for regulatory compliance.Promote the inclusion of students with disabilities in regular education settings when appropriate.Ensure compliance with all relevant special education laws and regulations, such as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).To apply, please upload on OLAS a cover letter, resume, three letters of recommendation, college transcripts, and a copy of your teaching certification or screenshot of your certification on TEACH, or mail your application materials to:Mellissa Mulvey SuperintendentIndian Lake Central School6345 State Route 28/30Indian Lake, NY 12842
