The ideal candidate will have experience with Regents-level instruction and interest in teaching dual enrollment or college-level coursework. This position provides opportunities to shape curriculum, expand college pathways, and work closely with motivated students in a collaborative, supportive environment.Qualifications and ResponsibilitiesCandidates will be considered based on their ability to demonstrate the following:Valid New York State Teaching Certification in Social Studies (Grades 7–12 required)Strong knowledge of NYS Social Studies Learning Standards, Regents curriculum, and assessment frameworksExperience teaching Regents-level courses and preparing students for Regents examinationsExperience or interest in teaching dual enrollment or college-level social studies coursework (e.g., U.S. History, Government, Economics, Sociology, or related courses)Ability to design rigorous, inquiry-based instruction aligned to Regents and college-level expectationsExperience using data-driven instructional practices to support student achievement and Regents successStrong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a respectful, inclusive, and engaging learning environmentAbility to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including students with disabilities Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, colleagues, and postsecondary partnersCommitment to promoting civic literacy, critical thinking, historical inquiry, and social-emotional learningWillingness to participate in professional development, curriculum development, and school initiatives, including expansion of dual enrollment pathwaysFamiliarity with instructional technology, digital learning platforms, and blended learning environments preferredCoaching, Advising, and Extracurricular OpportunitiesOpportunities may be available for coaching and/or advising extracurricular activities based on district needs and candidate interest.
