Indian Lake Central School is seeking a School Social Worker, or Licensed School Social Worker, who will be responsible for supporting students and advocating for their emotional, mental and physical wellbeing. The Social Worker will work with teachers, parents, and school leaders to develop plans and strategies to improve students’ academic performance and social emotional development. This position requires a high degree of self-awareness, knowledge on the educational impacts of trauma and creativity when it comes to addressing the needs of students. School Social Work duties and responsibilitiesThe duties of a School Social Worker include but are not limited to:Promoting the general well-being of studentsWorking with outside agencies to provide support to familiesOffer mentoring and suggestions for Teachers and other school personnelDeveloping and providing crisis intervention strategies to improve student successWorking to maximize coping skills for students in difficult situationsProvide individual and group counselingFlexibility to work with all populations pre k through grade 12Position QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited SchoolCurrent, New York State License for LSCWPlease send all materials to Mellissa Mulvey, Indian Lake Central School Superintendent
