Harmony Heights High School is accepting resumes for an immediate full time Teacher Assistant/Aide. We are a state approved special education school offering a Regents program. We provide a safe, positive, nurturing learning environment for young women who have not been successful in their home school district. Our therapeutic school community provides academic and clinical support to students dealing with depression, school anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD and past trauma. The candidate will work in classes of 12:1:1 under the direction of the classroom teacher. Responsibilities include working 1:1 at times with students, supporting the teacher in the classroom with attendance, printing classroom materials, and accompanying students to various other areas in the school building, i.e. the nurse, principal or clinical support person. This is a permanent 10 month position with a six week summer school program. Excellent working conditions. Good benefits. Great opportunity to gain special education experience.
