The Highland Falls-Fort Montgomery Central School District is seeking candidates for a leave replacement for a teacher of English as a New Language (grades 9-12) for the 2021-2022 school year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Co-teaching and collaborating with teachers in a variety of content areas;Providing pull out services to students as required by Part 154 of the NYS Commissioner's Regulations;Conducting NYSITELL and NYSESLAT testing;Keeping accurate and detailed student records;Monitoring and assessing student progress;Keeping an open line of communication with families;Collaborating with guidance department regarding students' needs and scheduling requirements.The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards, demonstrate an understanding of effective pedagogical practices that promote a student-centered learning environment, be a strong student advocate, feel comfortable integrating technology as an instructional and learning tool.The candidate must hold appropriate NYS TESOL certification (K-12). Additional NYS ELA certification is strongly preferred.NYS fingerprint clearance is required.
