Special Education Teacher-Elementary Fort Plain CSD is looking for a Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and individualized support to students in an elementary classroom setting. Required Qualifications Valid New York State Special Education Teacher Certification Experience working with young children preferred Salary: In accordance with the current FPTA contract; commensurate with education and experience. The ideal candidate is student-centered, collaborative, and deeply committed to inclusive education. They will: Demonstrate a strong understanding of best practices in teaching, learning, and assessment Use developmentally appropriate strategies to actively engage students with diverse learning needs Design and implement individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues Build professional relationships with team members Promote family engagement and partnership whenever possible
