Fire Island is seeking a versatile musician and teacher to helm its elementary music program (PK-6), which includes classroom music, ukulele, concert band, and musical theater. Qualified candidates will possess:* A valid NYS Music Teaching certificate* Piano accompaniment and conducting skills* Proficiency in voice and/or a wind instrument* Literacy in diverse musical genres and teaching methodsPreferred candidates will possess:* At least 2 years teaching experience at the elementary level* Familiarity with technological tools for education and music* Strong organizational and communication skills* Musical theater experienceThe school district provides bus transportation for employees from Captree Boat Basin to the school during the school year, and ferry transportation via Fire Island Ferries in July and August.
