Fire Island is seeking a certified Physical Education teacher to cover K-5 classes on a part-time basis for a period of 1 to 3 months. The .6 FTE schedule includes half days Monday through Thursday (8:00 to 11:15) and a full day on Friday (8:00 to 2:35).The school district provides bus transportation for off-island employees from Captree Boat Basin to the school during the school year.Qualified candidates will possess:* A valid NYS Physical Education Teaching certificatePreferred candidates will possess:* Experience teaching elementary age students* Familiarity with learning standards in Physical Education* Strong classroom management skills* A positive and energetic approach to workPlease address a job-specific cover letter to Mr. Philip Tamberino, Director of Curriculum & Special Projects.
