LOCATION: Adirondack Educational Center – Saranac Lake, NYDUTIES:• Patrols properties regularly or as scheduled to detect fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry,equipment failures or any suspicious activity in order to protect against threat, harm ortheft;• Patrols buildings and grounds to detect unauthorized persons or vehicles;• Inspects doors/windows regularly for security; locks/unlocks entries as necessary;• Investigates any disturbances or unusual activity and takes appropriate action;• Reports all suspicious or illegal activity immediately as required in an emergency;• Provides assistance in emergency situations and summons appropriate emergencyresponse agency and/or college officials as necessary;• Prevents unnecessary and inappropriate loitering of persons, dispelling those withoutlegitimate purpose; Prepares written reports of all security violations;• Provides information to visitors appropriately, i.e. directions;• May assist in directing/controlling crowds at special events;• May provide rudimentary clerical support as it relates to security;• Performs other duties as assigned.
