Job Posting: Science Teacher (Grades 7–12)Location: East Ramapo Central School District (Middle and High School Buildings) Employment Type: Full-Time, 10-month position Start Date: Immediately and 2025–2026 School YearPosition Overview: The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking qualified and passionate Science Teachers to join our team of dedicated educators. We are looking for innovative, culturally responsive instructors committed to helping students build a deep understanding of scientific concepts through inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement standards-based science lessons aligned with the New York State P-12 Science Learning Standards (NYSSLS).Deliver engaging instruction in one or more science disciplines (Living Environment, Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, or general middle school science).Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes inquiry, collaboration, and student-centered learning.Utilize data-driven instruction to assess student progress and differentiate instruction based on individual learning needs.Integrate technology and hands-on lab experiences to enhance scientific literacy and student engagement.Participate in curriculum planning, professional learning communities, and school-wide STEM initiatives.Maintain communication with families and support students’ academic and social-emotional growth.Qualifications:Valid New York State Certification in Science Grades 7–12 or a specific science content area (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Physics).Bachelor’s degree in Science, Science Education, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.Strong content knowledge and familiarity with NYSSLS.Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing culturally responsive teaching practices.Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.Salary & Benefits: Competitive salary commensurate with experience and education, per the East Ramapo Teachers Association (ERTA) contract.
