Job Posting: Director of Mathematics (7–12)Location: DistrictwideType: Full-time, 12-month position Application Deadline: June 1, 2025 or until position is filledThe East Ramapo Central School District is seeking an innovative and strategic instructional leader to serve as the Director of Mathematics (7–12). This role is an exciting opportunity for a visionary educator who is passionate about advancing math instruction and improving student achievement across all grade levels.The Director of Mathematics will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics curriculum. This individual will support educators through professional development, coaching, and collaboration, while leveraging data to drive instructional decisions and ensure equity across the district. The candidate must demonstrate proven success to improve student achievement and possess experience in a large, diverse district with a substantial multilingual student population.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the development and alignment of the 7–12 mathematics curriculum in accordance with NYS and Next Generation Learning Standards.Provide instructional leadership and collaborate with school and district administrators to promote effective, inclusive, and data-driven teaching practices.Design and deliver impactful, job-embedded professional development and coaching for mathematics educators.Use assessment data to monitor student progress and guide improvements in curriculum and instruction.Work closely with ENL and support staff to integrate multilingual education (MLE) practices into science curriculum and instructional delivery.Promote instructional consistency and rigor across all schools and grade levels.Foster a culture of continuous improvement through collaborative planning, peer learning, and reflective practice.Engage with families, school leaders, and community stakeholders to support student success and promote mathematical literacy.Support integration of math instruction with district-wide initiatives, including technology, equity, and social-emotional learning.Contribute to strategic planning and innovation to meet the diverse needs of all learners.Required Qualifications:Master’s degree in mathematics education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field.Valid New York State Teacher Certification in MathematicsNYS School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification.Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in science.Proven track record in instructional leadership and improving student achievement.Experience in curriculum development, instructional coaching, and data analysis.Experience supporting diverse student populations, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities.Preferred Qualifications:Deep knowledge of NYS standards, assessments, and research-based instructional practices.Strong coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Data-driven mindset and strong organizational skills.Collaborative, reflective, and equity-focused leadership style.Work Environment:Must be available to travel to schools across the district.Work may occur in classrooms, district offices, or remote settings, as needed.Salary and Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
