The East Ramapo Central School District is seeking a knowledgeable, innovative, and student-centered Computer Science Teacher to join our middle school and high school instructional teams. The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-aligned computer science instruction that develops students’ computational thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and digital literacy skills. The teacher will create inclusive learning experiences that introduce students to topics such as coding, programming, computer systems, digital citizenship, robotics, and emerging technologies. Qualifications: Valid New York State teaching certification in Computer Science or another certification deemed appropriate by NYSED Experience teaching computer science, coding, robotics, or related technology courses preferred Knowledge of the New York State Computer Science and Digital Fluency Learning Standards Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills Commitment to creating an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned computer science instruction for middle school students Provide hands-on opportunities for students to design, create, test, and improve technology-based projects Assess student learning and use data to adjust instruction Integrate digital citizenship, online safety, and responsible technology use into instruction Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and schoolwide initiatives Maintain regular communication with students, families, and school leadership Participate in professional learning, department meetings, and district initiatives Salary and benefits are commensurate with experience and established by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
