RESPONSIBILITIES:Manages all District protocols related to the Identification Process for English Language Learners as per New York State Commissioner’s Regulations Part 154Collaborates with the Central Registration Office to properly place students in schools according to their selected program for language acquisition supportMonitors enrollment trends and student placement Districtwide to determine where seats are availableMeets with families throughout the day to hold orientation meetings to inform parents of their rights and types of language acquisition programs offered in the DistrictInputs and manages ELL student data to reflect mandated Units of Study and support accuracy in scheduling for students in Kindergarten through grade 12Facilitates professional development around new NYSED initiatives regarding the identification of English Language Learners, screening tools and updatesProvides one-on-one support to refine instructional practicesComplete understanding of NYSESLAT/NYSITELL levels of EnglishExperience administering Multilingual Literacy Screener (MLS)Knowledge of supports for ELL Students with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE)Reviews student data to inform instruction and practicesKnowledge of ELL identification and placement processBilingual preferredAdditional duties as assigned by supervisor
