The Elmsford Union Free School District is continuously seeking dedicated and responsible individuals to serve as Per Diem Substitute Teacher Aides for all our school buildings.A Substitute Teacher Aide plays a vital role in supporting our students and staff by assisting with instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and throughout the school environment.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Assisting the classroom teacher with various daily tasks and routines.Providing support to students under the direction of the teacher, which may include one-on-one or small group assistance.Helping to prepare and organize classroom materials and learning resources.Supervising students during classroom activities, transitions, and in common areas (e.g., cafeteria, hallways, playground).Maintaining a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment.Supporting students with special needs as required, following guidance from the teacher or administrator.Assisting with basic clerical tasks such as filing and copying.Adhering to all school district policies and procedures.Qualifications & Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting, is preferred.Must be reliable, flexible, and possess a positive attitude.Successful completion of a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check is required for all school employees in accordance with New York State SAVE legislation.
