Position: Grades 7-12 Spanish TeacherAlexander Hamilton High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our World Languages Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching engaging and effective Spanish language courses to students in grades 7 through 12, fostering their communicative competenceResponsibilities:Develop and implement engaging, differentiated, and standards-aligned lesson plans and curriculum for Spanish language courses across grades 7-12.Create a positive classroom environment that promotes active student participation, collaboration, and a love of learning.Utilize a variety of effective teaching methodologies, including communicative language teaching, project-based learning, and technology integration.Assess student learning through various formative and summative assessments, providing timely and meaningful feedback to students and parents.Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.Collaborate with colleagues within the World Languages Department and across disciplines to enhance curriculum and instruction.Participate in school-wide initiatives, professional development opportunities, and extracurricular activities as appropriate.Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.Maintain accurate student records in accordance with school and district policies.Adhere to all school and district policies and procedures.Qualifications:New York State Certification in Spanish (Grades 7-12 or K-12).Bachelor's degree in Spanish or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Demonstrated experience teaching Spanish at the middle and/or high school level.Strong knowledge of Spanish grammar, vocabulary, and culture.Experience with communicative language teaching methodologies and proficiency-based instruction.Ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment that caters to diverse learners.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.Experience integrating technology effectively into the classroom.Commitment to collaboration, professional growth, and student success.Familiarity with NYS World Language standards (ACTFL standards) and best practices.
