The Elmsford Union Free School District is seeking a candidate who hold NYS dual certification in Mathematics 7-12 and ENL 7-12 for a probationary teaching vacancy for an immediate start during the 2022 - 2023 school year at Alexander Hamilton Jr./Sr. High School. Familiarity with TESOL, NYS math curriculum, state assessments, and regents exams in Math 7 and Algebra is needed, as well as, differentiated instruction to support struggling mathematicians.Essential Functions:- Familiar with Math 7and Algebra I Standards and Curriculum and uses them for unit and lesson plan development.- Thoughtfully centers equity in the daily learning experiences to support the students' awareness of identity, inclusivity, and social justice. - Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seeks professional learning opportunities.- Willing and able to work in a collaborative teaching environment, including consultant teaching and interdisciplinary planning.- Experience with social and emotional learning is preferred.- Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual students' needs.- Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.Certification/License:New York State Certification: Math Teacher Grades 7 - 12 New York State Certification: TESOL Bilingual Spanish speaking candidates encouraged to apply.EUFSD contractual rate
