The Edgemont School District seeks a probationary 7–12 Social Studies teacher.The successful candidate will:Demonstrate strong content knowledge across the secondary Social Studies curriculum, with an emphasis on United States HistoryDesign engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, historical analysis, and civil discourseSupport students in developing strong communication skills through discussion, writing, and evidence-based argumentationFoster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment that values multiple perspectives and promotes active civic engagementCollaborate effectively with colleagues to support a cohesive and student-centered instructional programExperience teaching AP United States History is preferred. Familiarity with primary source analysis, discussion-driven instruction, and project-based or inquiry-based approaches is a plus.New York State Certification in Social Studies (Grades 7–12) is required.
