Secondary Special Education Teachers The Cold Spring Harbor School District is seeking qualified and dedicated Secondary Special Education Teachers to support students across a variety of instructional settings. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to fostering student growth, implementing individualized support, and collaborating with colleagues and families to ensure student success. Instructional Settings May Include: Resource Room Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) Classrooms Special Class (12:1) Required Qualifications: New York State Students with Disabilities (All Grades or 7-12) certification required Dual certification in content area preferred Key Responsibilities: Provide direct instructional support to students Implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and accommodations Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and skill acquisition Develop IEPs and complete all required IEP-related documentation and reports Conduct academic assessments for initial eligibility Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and reevaluations Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs Collaborate and consult with general education teachers to support students in both general education and ICT settings Utilize effective co-teaching practices aligned with Integrated Co-Teaching models Preferred Skills/Attributes: Strong organizational and data collection skills Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices for students with disabilities Cover letter may be addressed to Brian Taylor, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources No telephone calls, please
