F/T Literacy Coach (Probationary Elementary Education tenure track)POSITION OVERVIEWWe are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Literacy Coach to partner with classroom teachers in providing student-centered, Tier 1 (general classroom) literacy instruction. The Literacy Coach will work closely with teachers and administrators to improve instructional practices, support student learning, and ensure the effective implementation of best practices in literacy education.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPartner with and work alongside teachers in classrooms, focusing on Tier 1 literacy instruction to support student success.Collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators to identify and address instructional needs and challenges.Provide regular, timely feedback to teachers to support their professional growth and development.Model best instructional practices by delivering direct instruction to students.Assist teachers in using student evaluation data to inform and guide instructional decisions, focusing on skill progressions and individual student needs.Work closely with trainers/consultants to ensure that established goals are being met by the end of each coaching cycle.Make recommendations to principals regarding curricular modifications and instructional resources based on ongoing classroom assessments.Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best instructional practices to provide student-focused coaching support.Review and recommend instructional resources as needed to meet the evolving needs of the classroom.Attend trainings and professional development opportunities alongside classroom teachers to strengthen collective instructional strategies. QUALIFICATIONSProven experience in classroom teaching, particularly in literacy education.Strong understanding of Tier 1 instructional practices and strategies.Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and consultants.Excellent communication and feedback skills.Knowledge of student evaluation tools and the ability to use data to drive instructional decisions.Commitment to continuous professional learning and growth.Cover letter may be addressed to Dr. Candice Brodie, Assistant Superintendent for Human ResourcesNo telephone calls, please
