A Starting Place is a special education preschool located in Pearl River, NY that cares for children ages 3-5 years old. We are looking for friendly, outgoing, reliable team players that would like to join our family and help make a difference in a child’s early development. We are currently hiring part time Teacher Assistants to work Monday- Friday, 8:45am- 2:30pm. We are also willing to work with candidates looking for a modified schedule. (Either less hours or fewer days.) College students welcome to apply! We offer a paid Teacher Assistant Certification reimbursement program. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Set up and maintain the classroom. This includes preparing learning materials, sweeping, organizing, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces.Ensure that children are under direct and competent supervision at all times. (No cell phone use during work hours.)Attend staff meetings, training and professional development as required.Practice good personal hygiene and hand washing.Communicate effectively, positively, and professionally with coworkers, administration and families.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Must be flexible and able to move quickly.Must be able to bend, turn, kneel, stretch, squat, sit on the floor, walk and run.
