Elementary Interventionist, NYS CertifiedThe Alexandria Central School District is accepting applications for a tenure-track Elementary Interventionist position for September 1, 2025. A probationary appointment will be based on certification and education, NYS Education Laws, and the ACFA Teacher’s contract.We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator committed to fostering a love of learning in our elementary students. Classroom experience, Literacy and or Special Education certification are preferred, but not required. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that nurtures the academic, social, and emotional growth of young learners. General responsibilities in this role include:Experience with at-risk students, learning interventions, low-achieving students, adolescent development, and motivational strategies.Assess students’ educational needs and provide targeted instruction.Support classroom teachers through collaboration and direct student instruction.Stay informed on best practices for intervention strategies.Assist students in strengthening study skills and learning strategies.Provide staff support on academic intervention programs.Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.Develop and evaluate individual student goals and program effectiveness.Collaborate with Special Education staff to develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, ensuring appropriate accommodations and modifications are in place for student success.Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of student progress towards IEP goals, communicating regularly with staff and families regarding student development.Strong understanding of effective teaching methods, differentiated instruction, and student learning styles.Proficiency in English language skills, mathematics, and educational technology.Ability to analyze student data and develop action plans.Familiarity with federal and state education laws.Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and parents.Commitment to professional growth and self-evaluation.ACS is a rural school district located in the heart of the Thousand Islands region of the St. Lawrence River in Alexandria Bay, NY. The school district has a UPK-12 population of about 500 students housed in one building with a staff of 75 full-time personnel.
