Wantagh School District is seeking an energetic and caring science educator to serve as a 7th grade science teacher leave replacement. This position has the potential to develop into a permanent substitute position once the leave is over for the remainder of the school year (leave=approximately 12 weeks).The successful candidate will: * Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support the needs of students. * Differentiate instruction and engages students in well-planned, and paced lessons to meet the needs of all learners. * Uses data to make informed instructional decisions. * Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with the New York State Science Learning Standards (N.Y.S.S.L.S.) to align curriculum and instruction effectively. * Experience in implementing project-based learning (P.B.L.) methodologies to engage students in hands-on, inquiry-based science activities.Qualifications: * NYS Science Certification required to teach Grade 7 Science * Previous Teaching Experience preferred, especially in a middle school setting* NYS K-12 Fingerprinting required* Please be sure to upload: cover letter, current resume, three professional references and a copy of your certification
