The Wantagh UFSD is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and thoughtful Social Studies teacher to fill a .8 teaching position in Wantagh High School. The successful candidate should: promote a positive classroom environment that focuses on student-centered and student-driven learning experiences possess a deep understanding in the K-12 Social Studies Framework Standards and be able to implement them in instructional practice support students in becoming civic-minded, empathetic, and caring learners and citizens effectively prepare students for New York State, AP, and/or college-levels exams develop and implement differentiated social studies lessons that are consistent with the district’s goals and vision for learning enhance and facilitate critical learning processes by seeking out, acquiring, and sharing the most pertinent and up-to-date resources (print, electronic, audiovisual) with students, faculty, and other community members collaborate with colleagues to horizontally and vertically align curriculum, enhance instructional practices, and meet district academic goalseffectively communicate with students and their families Requirements:7-12 Social Studies certification
