Number of Positions: 1Salary: $46,859 - $66,171 commensurate with experienceLocations: Waterford/Halfmoon and Fort AnnWork Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am-2:45pmTo provide Assistive Technology support for students with disabilities by providing direct and indirect support services in the integration and use of assistive technology devices, materials, and strategies to students, educational teams, and families.Plans appropriate activities for students assigned to caseload;Creates materials and methods, and implements appropriate communication systems for those students requiring that type of intervention;Orients students to the activities that are planned and provides for a comprehensive scope and sequence of activities;Participates as a meaningful member of the special education team in relation to the students' total program;Integrates communication strategies and adapts instructional materials for student access to curriculum within the classroom environment to the maximum extent possible;Evaluates and reports on student progress at designated intervals according to established procedures;Is familiar with and cooperates with school policies and regulations;Supervises the use and care of materials and equipment;Cooperates as fully as possible with professional and non-professional staff members of this organization and other school districts in conjunctive activities;Performs other such duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements:NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher OR NYS Certification as a Speech Language Pathologist;Experience with Assistive Technology, specifically AAC, TEACCH methodology, and curriculum adaptation skills for students with autism preferred;Experience with school-based speech therapy or special education teaching working with students with disabilities (Kindergarten through age 21) preferred;Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
