Number of Positions: Continuous RecruitmentSalary: $22,566 - $34,577 commensurate with experienceLocations: Sites in Saratoga Springs, Wilton, Hudson Falls, & Glens FallsWork Hours: Monday - Friday ; 8:00am-2:45pm The Teaching Assistant will work in a classroom setting to provide additional support and assistance to students. The primary responsibilities will be to help the teacher or student with instructional tasks, monitor student progress, and contribute to the overall learning environment.Assist and supervise students during instructional and non-instructional times, including supporting students use of available instructional resources and materialsWork one-on-one or in small groups with students on tasks, projects or assignmentsMonitor student progress and provide feedback through the use of the school wide behavior management system for instructional and non-instructional activitiesHelp maintain an organized and engaging classroom environmentAssist with data collection, record keeping or other tasks related to classroom activitiesCommunicate regularly with the teacher to provide information about student and support behavioral and instructional goalsCollaborate with team to develop, implement and review support plans for studentsMaintain confidentiality of student information and recordsParticipate in staff development and training to maintain or develop increased professional knowledgeOther such duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Graduation from high school or a minimum of 18 college credit hours completed, with 60 credit hours preferred;Certified or certifiable* as a teaching assistant.Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.*Certified and certifiable means that either you presently hold any level of the Teaching Assistant certificate issued by NYS Education Department OR you can obtain the introductory Teaching Assistant certificate with NYSED.
