Number of Positions: 1Salary: $90,000-$96,900Location: TBDWork Hours: TBDProvides leadership and overall supervision for all aspects of BOCES Itinerant and Related Services and programs, to include Special Education technology.Serves as the BOCES Administrator and liaison with school superintendents or their designees for service delivery in & as of Itinerant and Related Services;Implement BOCES policies, procedures and State Education Department mandates;Direct the growth and development of services to effectively meet changing needs of component districts and BOCES' internal needs, and service as a liaison to component districts by providing accurate polices, procedures and SED mandates as they relate to Itinerant and Related Services;With component school superintendents and/or their designees, identify individual district needs and plan for the efficient use of shared services between districts and the BOCES;In coordination with school superintendents and/or their designees, and BOCES administrators, match district and program needs with skills, certifications and licensure of BOCES staff;Recommend for employment and retention licensed and/or certified staff to work in BOCES and District programs to provide instruction and related services;Conduct or oversee appropriate and contractual professional evaluation of all itinerant and related staff (for example: audiologists, counselors, occupational therapists, orientation and mobility specialists, physical therapists, psychologists, social workers, speech/language professionals, teachers of the visually impaired, teachers of the deaf, teachers of foreign language);Provide leadership for the continual professional development of all itinerant and related services staff (individually and groups), to insure a well-informed staff;Develop and manage itinerant and related services budgets;Assure appropriate professional demeanor and promote the use of appropriate and valid methodology in all areas of itinerant and related services delivery;Assure that experimental and innovative methodology is used carefully and within BOCES Board Policy and administrative guidelines; Provide a leadership style that promotes an atmosphere of harmony and optimism and a "can do" attitude among instructional and support staff, parents, students and the community;Maintain an office that is responsive, efficient and supportive to school districts, staff and programs;Develop and implement procedures for staff to work as a cooperative and collaborative team, participate in decision making and have opportunities for professional development;Actively participate in identifying and obtaining sources of funding for programs and services that are beyond that provided through tuition from component districts;Coordinate development and renewal of Special Education/Alternative Education technology plan, in conjunction with Special Education Technology Committee;Serve as member of the Council of Administrators and Supervisors and the Special Education Management Team;Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Special and Alternative Education and the Assistant Superintendent for Instructional and School Support Services.Minimum Requirements:NYS School Building Leader (SBL) Certification; ORNYS School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) Certification; ORNYS School District Administrator (SDA) Certification; Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
